Naturesave Policies Ltd was set up to use the insurance industry as a vehicle for sustainable development of which renewable energy is clearly part. Since 1995 through its donations from Naturesave Policies Ltd, The Naturesave Trust has funded over £350,000.
Many community renewable energy groups are set up and run by volunteers who often find the many tasks involved with setting up a project very daunting and time-consuming. The Naturesave Trust provides “seed corn” and “spark plug” capital to help these groups get off the ground. This could be in the form of help with legal structure, share prospectus, fundraising, choice of systems or general help with meeting the costs of getting the project going. Please see www.naturesave.co.uk/communities for our Handy Tips guide for community renewable energy groups.
Naturesave also provides a wide variety of insurances for community renewable energy projects and 10% of our community renewable energy insurance premiums goes into The Naturesave Trust, which in turn, goes towards funding more community renewable energy projects.
