RSA Warwickshire are hosting this free event on how to create low-carbon communities. Follow this link to book on to this exciting event.

Climate and ecological crises are much in the news recently.  These have sparked the global phenomena of ‘Schools4Climate’ strikes, ‘Extinction Rebellion’ protests and lots of activity around air quality, disposable plastics and pollution of the seas.

The scale of the challenge is now so great that despite action over the years by many people in many ways - higher levels of involvement to tackle the issues are needed.  We need to convince our communities, friends, families and others to get serious and meet the new realities.

Engaging can be done in many ways – from the quieter more conventional through to louder and more vocal! Whatever your way – action is needed now. Are you prepared to get involved?  The RSA aims to bring together communities to share ideas and deliver solutions.

You will hear about

·       a new funding stream for rural community energy projects from the WM Regional Energy Hub

·       an overview of the progress of solar PV in the UK and the current economics of installation post subsidy

·       details of a funding bid for ecological projects from Garden Organic

Attendees will be asked whether

·       a 'Low Carbon Support Hub' would be helpful and what you'd like from one if it could be established.

The event is free to attend and open to everyone interested in delivering low carbon solutions for communities.  Refreshments will be available.  If you want to stay afterwards - there are two good pubs (The Folly / The Kings Head) and a great café / stores.

Speakers include:
George Martin (Chair) - Director, UK Building Performance Network and Chair of the Sustainable Development Foundation
Steve Thomson - Operations Director, Garden Organic and 'Wilder for Wellbeing' project
Tbc - West Midland Regional Energy Hub - rural energy feasibility grant funding
Angus Rose - Inenco Energy - solar PV provider specialising in schools and businesses
