This workshop, delivered by Carbon Co-op and URBED, will guide Community Energy practitioners through the basics of energy efficiency and retrofit; what's involved, where to start and inspiring examples from other community energy groups in the UK.

Many Community Energy groups aspire to help people locally reduce their home energy use - but few know where to start, what advice to offer or what the technical challenges may be.

After all, low energy use means lower bills, lower carbon emissions and more comfortable and healthy homes and buildings.

In this half day workshop, Community Energy practitioners will be guided through the basics of energy efficiency and retrofit; what's involved, where to start and inspiring examples from other Community Energy groups in the UK.

By the end of the day, attendees will have a good idea of what's needed to establish an energy saving project in their area - and the session will end with hands on planning to develop the nuts and bolts of a project for you.
