As part of WPD’s ongoing engagement with different customer groups, they are holding an annual stakeholder workshop for stakeholders and customers to gather feedback on a number of long-term, strategic challenges facing electricity networks.

As you may be aware, WPD is currently part-way through its current business plan period (RIIO-ED1), which runs until 2023. The workshops will provide an opportunity for you to critically evaluate how we are performing, as well as to tell us your priorities for the future, including the next business plan period (RIIO-ED2).

As part of WPD’s ongoing engagement with different customer groups, they are holding an annual stakeholder workshop for stakeholders and customers to gather feedback on a number of long-term, strategic challenges facing electricity networks.

As you may be aware, WPD is currently part-way through its current business plan period (RIIO-ED1), which runs until 2023. The workshops will provide an opportunity for you to critically evaluate how we are performing, as well as to tell us your priorities for the future, including the next business plan period (RIIO-ED2).

Birmingham (Aston Villa Football Club), 6th February 2018

Derby (Pride Park Stadium – home of Derby County FC), 7th February 2018

Lincoln (Lincolnshire Showground), 8th February 2018

Registration: 9.15am

Workshops: 9.45am – 1pm

Lunch: 1pm – 2pm

Optional surgeries: 2pm – 3pm

Workshop content

Topics that will be covered include but are not limited to:

  • Smart technology and innovation
  • Supporting customers in vulnerable situations and in fuel poverty
  • Connecting low carbon technologies and electric vehicles to the grid
  • Resilience to severe weather and emergencies
  • Our environmental responsibilities
  • Our transition to a Distribution System Operator
  • If there are any other areas you think we should cover at the workshops, please let us know by filling in the text box on the registration page. We will endeavour to incorporate your topic suggestions into the event.

    Format

    The workshops will include presentations from senior WPD Managers. In addition, there will be a session hosted by Citizens Advice. Each presentation will be followed by roundtable discussions where your feedback will directly shape our actions.

    After lunch, there will be a number of ‘surgeries’ on: Connections; Social Obligations; and Losses and Innovation.

    Attendees will include representatives of parish and local councils; energy suppliers and major users; vulnerable customer representatives and charities; business groups; developers; environmental representatives and conservation groups.
